A time will most likely come in everyone’s life when they’ll wonder: Why does it suck so much? Why is everything not happening the way I always dreamed it would? This phase of life is usually punctuated by self-loathing, frustration, anxiety, and possibly depression. You’re stagnated, and if things start moving for you, they’ll most likely be going downhill. Opportunities aren’t forthcoming. You’re weak, you’re demoralized, and unfortunately – YOU are the one who put yourself in that frame of mind. We fail to realize how strongly our thoughts and dispositions affect our view of life.

If you think everything in the world is against you, sit back and watch it actually start happening. If you think you are above THIS and shouldn’t be wallowing in a dark hole, you’ll most likely find a way out.

It’s all in our minds, and we have the power to change the direction of our lives [1].

You are your only obstacle

Sometimes, obstinacy is the key to happiness. Don’t ever settle for less than what you truly desire. Don’t go with the ole “If life throws lemons at you, make lemonade” saying. If life throws lemons at you, and you want appleade, toss ‘em lemons back and go hunt some apples. That’s the attitude you NEED to face the struggles of life with.

Don’t be submissive to destiny. Take it and mold it into what you want it to be. Your life sucks right now because you feel helpless. You feel as though there’s nothing you can do to change the current situation. Possibly, you’re afraid to take risks, afraid to jump hoops, and terrified of taking bold steps. Fear is the reason your life is not right at this moment.

Don’t let your mind put you in chains. The first step to achieving a great goal is to get started. Make a move. Do something. Don’t quit submitting those M.A applications. Don’t quit handing out flyers to potential customers and campaigning on social media. Don’t quit speaking to investors and possible shareholders. Aim high and be positive.

Positive thinking is important

Quit making excuses and making extra efforts to find something wrong in every situation. Weigh the risks and take the shot. You’ll never get anywhere if you’re constantly worrying about negative outcomes. Why step out every day when there’s the possibility of a plane flying out of the sky and knocking you down? Why use the elevator when you could get trapped? Why eat when you could choke to death? Why go to college when you could possibly fail out? Why speak to those investors when they could turn you down?

Negativity will only hold you back and keep you in the bondage of dreaming of what could have been.

He who says he can and he who says he can’t are both usually right. You are what you say you are. You can do whatever you believe you can do, and if believe you can’t, that’s also true.

But you can do this. You’ve got it. Don’t be an obstacle to yourself. Don’t feed your mind with negative thoughts and convictions.

Most importantly, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t. Be true to yourself and chase your dreams with unflinching courage.

It may look bad now, but it’s within your power to make it good.
