“Human milk is like ice cream, penicillin, and the drug ecstasy all wrapped in two pretty packages” – Florence Williams
Being a mom makes a woman superhuman. Breastfeeding is a sort of power enhancement for her; she gave life from her body, and she’s also sustaining it from the same body. The concept is deep and humbling. Punta Cana mom of two, Katya Nova knows how amazing it is, so she doesn’t owe anybody any apology for breastfeeding in public. After all, it’s now legalized to breastfeed publicly in every state in America .
31-year-old Katya uses her incredible photos as subtle advocacy for the normalization of breastfeeding. Why should people try to tag indecency to something so beautiful and natural? A mother’s milk is one of the most nutritious, nourishing and refreshing foods anyone can find on earth.
Encouraging other moms to be proud of nurturing
Katya is a spiritual, natural and holistic woman. The crystal-loving, palm-fronds clutching, chakra-wielding, meditating kind of holistic woman. She lives a very inspiring and unrestrained life. In one of her Instagram posts, she bitterly complained that no movie ever portrays childbirth and post-natal recovery in a realistic way .
“Why is it that no film or TV show EVER portrays labor/birth realistically?????? It is honestly one of my biggest pet peeves. No wonder most women have so much fear around birth and BOTH men and women have no real understanding of what the birthing AND postpartum healing process is like,” Katya wrote.
Katya breastfeeds her baby Phoenix anywhere she needs to. If anyone stares hard enough to get offended, then that’s their problem. Mothers shouldn’t be embarrassed about feeding their babies in public. Breastfeeding is an important aspect of a baby’s development, and it’s as necessary as the daily rising and setting of the sun.
Katya’s Instagram page, @nurturingnovas is filled with amazing photos of her family, living beautiful lives in Punta Cana Village. Breastfeeding, yoga, cooking, spending quality time with her adorable platinum-blonde kids and sharing souls with her husband Rob
Katya believes motherhood should be celebrated and not censored. No mom should ever be chastised or shamed for giving life to her young one.
For the six months to one year, a baby’s exclusive food source is where his mother’s heartbeat is.
